ABOUT THE VENUE:
Originally separate town houses, this venue was built in the 18th century or possibly earlier by merchants who were developing the nearby Quay. This was at a time when Truro was prospering and becoming known as the High Society for Cornwall. The venue is now a Bar and Restaurant and with beamed ceilings and parts of the original features, it makes for a very interesting and confusing building set over several storeys.
It is believed that it has previously been used as a mortuary, butcher's dairy and other shops plus many other uses.
Th place really has a real sense of history and is a very atmospheric location. The famous explorer Richard Lander was born a stone's throw from the site and would almost certainly have visited the building at some stage.
Reading below may influence your experiences, so we advise reading after a visit and not before!
There have been reports of ghostly activity happening here for many, many years. This has included convincing stories of sightings of a male and female figures, poltergeist activity, sounds, atmospheres and other consistent and convincing experiences by a wide number of different people.
Different sources have confirmed constant information and on previous nights / investigations we have had some great results, including the sightings of more than one ghostly figure, EVPs and accurate findings.
